A day at the seaside

On the 18th June, Sisters from Forest Gate and Sr Kathy from Ilford spent the day at Westgate-on-Sea in Kent.

Assisted by staff and driven in our minibus we left London and arrived at the sunny seaside spot. We immediately went down to the sandy beach and set up camp for the day, however, we were caught out by the very fast incoming tide! We were joined for a picnic on the Promenade by Sisters Jackie and Angela who live in Westgate. We then hopped back in the minibus and drove to Herne Bay for an ice cream. We were very lucky as this was when the heavens opened and it rained the whole way home.

Westgate holds a very special place in many of our hearts. It was very precious to be able to visit again and on such a beautifully sunny day.
