Women Called To Follow Christ

God alone knows what you need and want(s) and can provide for you
— St Angela's Rule, Chapter 10

In an increasingly busy, noisy world, our minds can become distracted and crowded. This inevitably affects our ability to be still, listen to our spirit and be open to God within us. It is important to set aside specific times for prayer and seek places that are conducive to contemplation.

Prayer and fasting were an essential part of St Angela’s life and the many people who came to her for advice and support were drawn by her prayerfulness. With St Angela as our role model, we as Ursulines seek to deepen our knowledge and love of Jesus through private prayer.

Praying together is also an important part of being a community; it punctuates our day and strengthens our sense of mission. We follow the liturgical Prayer of the Church and as far as possible recite Morning and Evening Prayer together. This also gives us an opportunity to pray specifically for people who have asked us to pray for them in their time of need. When possible, we share in the Liturgy of the Mass each day; either with our local community or more recently, virtually.

Let them hold this as most certain: that they will never be abandoned in their needs. God will provide for them wonderfully.
